Eriele M. Tellis is a recent graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (ILL!) with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Portuguese. Eriele graduated with a a 4.00 GPA and the recipient of University Honors, the highest honors that can be bestowed onto a graduate. Her research focused on xenophobia and Islamophobia and its effects on foreign policy. During her time at Illinois, she was the President of Women of Color, a proud member of the Alpha Nu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated., and more. She has studied abroad in Italy, Brazil South Africa, and Argentina. 

Eriele is passionate about the development and empowerment of girls of color not only in her immediate community but globally. In the future, Eriele hopes to be an active board member at a nonprofit organization that strives to make an impact in this area. Eriele grew up on the Southside of Chicago. Currently, she works at the Barack Obama Foundation in the Office of the CEO. Following her tenure at the Barack Obama Foundation, she will continue on as a Fulbright Fellow in Caserta, Italy. Ultimately, her goal is to attain a Juris Doctorate and become a corporate attorney.
