SECOND SATURDAYS MENTORING PROGRAM
For the last 5 years, our Second Saturdays mentoring program has provided African-American girls in Chicago with caring mentors from a diverse variety of professionals who are committed to teaching girls critical life and communication skills. Held the second Saturday of each month from 10am - 12 noon, our Second Saturdays mentoring program is free and open to the public for girls ages 7 - 17 years old to attend.
Girls are exposed to a variety of things via hands-on activities focused on the arts, etiquette, communication, health and wellness, career exploration, and much more -- all in a safe and welcoming environment with women who are interested in the girls futures.
The Chicago Chapter of the Links Incorporated is our community partner that has committed women who serve as mentors and participate in each our Second Saturdays sessions.
Our meeting place is at the Chicago Urban League - our community partner that graciously donates use of space at their location for Polished Pebbles to hold the Second Saturdays program.
